The short version
- This website has no sign-up forms, accounts, or patient portal, and it never asks for health information.
- Calls and emails go straight to Jesse. Nothing about your participation is shared with your employer, chain of command, or insurer.
- We use one Google tool to see whether our free Google ads lead people to call or email us. We do not use it to follow you around with ads.
- We do not sell personal information.
What we measure, and why
Responders First receives free advertising through Google Ad Grants, a program for nonprofits. The program requires us to measure whether our ads lead to real contact, so every page of this site loads the Google tag. When someone taps our phone number or Jesse’s email address, the tag tells Google Ads that a phone or email click happened, and Google matches it to an ad click if there was one.
What we see is totals in our Google Ads account, such as how many phone taps came from ads this month. We do not see who you are, and the tag never sees your call or what you write.
As with any site that uses Google’s tag, your browser sends Google the page address, your IP address, basic browser details, and a cookie identifier. Google explains how it uses that in How Google uses information from sites that use its services.
We have deliberately limited that tracking:
- No ad personalization. The tag is set so that visits to this site are not used to personalize the ads you see elsewhere.
- No remarketing. We do not build lists of visitors or show follow-up ads to people who have been here.
- No contact details sent. We do not send Google your email address, phone number, or name.
- Crisis lines never count. Tapping 988 or 911 on this site is never recorded as an ad result.
Donations
Gifts made on our donate page are processed by Givebutter. Givebutter’s privacy policy covers the donation form. Responders First can see what you enter there, such as your name, email address, and gift amount.
Other services this site uses
- Vercel hosts the website and keeps standard server logs, such as IP address and browser type, to keep it running and secure.
- Google Fonts supplies the site’s typefaces, so your browser requests them from Google.
- Links to other websites, such as our partners or our Facebook page, are covered by those sites’ own policies.
Your choices
- You can block or clear cookies in your browser. That does not stop you from calling, emailing, or reading anything here.
- You can control how Google uses your data for ads at My Ad Center.
